A Thousand Li of Rivers and Mountains

Created for CCTV’s media event A Thousand Miles of Rivers and Mountains Like a Painting, The New Peach Blossom Spring reimagines the classical vision of an idyllic landscape through digital art and immersive technology.

LiDAR, 3D scanning, motion capture, and virtual reality were used to collect spatial and movement data from Nanshan Village. This material was transformed through TouchDesigner and generative AI into evolving visual environments. Using large-scale 3D projection mapping, the digital imagery was returned to the natural landscape, blending virtual scenery with the physical terrain and inviting audiences into a contemporary interpretation of the Peach Blossom Spring.
